Arrived to Bariloche, Argentina!

Interesting ride, 19hrs across dry pampas (flat land). Much like Nevada, absolutely desolate. I slept well through the night in the cama seat, and enjoyed a couple movies during the ride. Pretty good deal going so far overnight for $125. I would also extend yet another thank you to Teri and Oscar for helping us move the bikes to the bus station in Mendoza, and for helping us communicate with the bus driver for bicycle transport on the bus. Thanks! We did it! Half a world away we’ve brought our bikes, undamaged!
Bariloche town sits beside a large lake, but we cannot see across due to forest fire smoke blown in from the south and leftover volcanic ash that is being blown around. People here say the visibility changes with the wind, so hopefully these days we’re here will improve the scenery.
The Alaska hostel is nice, and well removed from town but easily accessible by bus. Will have to update again after we see town tonight and know more about the area.
Best part about this point in time is we’ve made it as far as we plan to move the bikes in their boxes. From here on, they shall be ridden! No more lugging them around as dead weight!
Well done. Glad to hear you’ve made it. Have a nice ride from here on.
